CLINGENDAEL is an old word from the Dutch language. “Cling” meaning “ Dune “ or “ Hill “ and “ Dael “ meaning “ valley “. Just like our Clingendael hotel in majestcally perched high on a hill overlooking the valley in which the championship Victoria Golf Course is located. Our hotel is named after a 17th - century manor house located just outside The Hague, Netherlands. The Clingendael logo is derived from the sundials which decorate both the gardens of Clingendael Netherlands and Clingendael Sri Lanka.
